Care delivered with thought and presence.
Meet Dr. Seeta Patel — Harvard-trained psychiatrist, board certified, and the sole practitioner behind Varta Psychiatry.
A practice built on listening, shaped by training, sustained by care.
I started Varta Psychiatry because I wanted to practice medicine in a way that allows for time, attention, and a genuine commitment to understanding the person in front of me. Too often, psychiatric care is shaped by limited time and structure. My goal was to create a practice grounded in thoughtful, individualized care.
My clinical work is centered around anxiety disorders — patterns of persistent overthinking, perfectionism, and anticipatory worry that can make daily life feel exhausting, even when things appear fine on the surface. Often, the very patterns that helped someone become productive or successful can, over time, become the same patterns that keep them feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or exhausted.
My training began at Emory University, where I studied neuroscience, followed by medical school at the University of Louisville, adult psychiatry residency at Harvard Medical School and the VA Boston Healthcare System, and an Integrated Care Fellowship at the University of Washington. I am board certified by the American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.
If any part of this feels aligned with the kind of support you’re looking for, I'd be glad to hear from you. The first step is simply reaching out.

Four principles that shape every visit.
01
Listen first.
Most appointments begin with space to talk — context, history, what's working, what isn't. The medication decisions follow from there.
02
Evidence as the floor.
Treatment decisions are guided by evidence-based medicine, tailored thoughtfully to your symptoms, history, and goals.
03
Collaboration always.
Patients are partners in the plan. You'll always know why a medication is being recommended, what to expect, and what the alternatives look like.
04
Clarity over noise.
The goal isn't to feel medicated — it's to feel more like yourself. Plans are reassessed regularly so that treatment continues to fit your life.
