Care delivered with thought and presence.

Meet Dr. Seeta Patel — Harvard-trained psychiatrist, board certified, and the sole practitioner behind Varta Psychiatry.

A practice built on listening, shaped by training, sustained by care.

I started Varta Psychiatry because I wanted to practice medicine the way I believe it should be practiced — with time, with attention, and with a genuine commitment to understanding the person in front of me. The psychiatric appointment has a way of becoming compressed, transactional. I wanted to build something different.

My clinical work is centered around anxiety disorders — the kind of relentless overthinking, perfectionism, and hypervigilance that can make daily life feel exhausting even when nothing is technically wrong. If you've spent years feeling like you're always one step behind your own mind, I'd like to help you find more ground beneath your feet.

My training took me from Emory University for my undergraduate work in neuroscience, through the University of Louisville for medical school, into an Adult Psychiatry Residency at Harvard Medical School and the VA Boston Healthcare System, and finally to an Integrated Care Fellowship at the University of Washington. I am board certified by the American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.

If anything here feels relevant to where you are right now, I'd be glad to hear from you. The first step is simply reaching out.

Four principles that shape every visit.

Listen first.

Most appointments begin with space to talk — context, history, what's working, what isn't. The medication decisions follow from there.

Evidence as the floor

03

Collaboration always.

Patients are partners in the plan. You'll always know why a medication is being recommended, what to expect, and what the alternatives look like.

04

Clarity over noise.

The goal isn't to feel medicated — it's to feel more like yourself. Plans are reassessed regularly so that treatment continues to fit your life.
